Have you tried diet clubs, shots, pills, weight doctors, etc., only
to achieve short-lived success followed by further failures-gaining and
regaining weight each time? Have you known the despair of feeling fat?
Are you thin now, but know you are on your way up? Is your eating out of
control? If so, then Overeaters Anonymous (OA) may be for you.
To read
more about OA click the "What is OA?"
tab shown above.
To help
you determine if you are a compulsive overeater, click and answer
the questions shown on the "Questions"
tab above. Also read about other
Eating Disorders that members of
OA suffer from.
There is
more information about OA on the Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQs) tab.
On the
OA World Service website,
there is very useful information for newcomers, including
what to expect at an
OA meeting and more information
about OA.

About Meetings:
To find a
meeting that is specifically for newcomers, see the
Monday 9:30 AM (Saratoga),
Tuesday 7:30 PM (Palo Alto) or the
Saturday 9:30 AM (San Jose) meeting.
Newcomers
are also welcome at ANY OA meeting. To find a meeting
in Santa Clara County, check our Meetings
pages. To find meetings
anywhere in the world, check with the OA World Service site (oa.org).
We encourage everyone to attend at least six
meetings before you decide whether or not OA is the place for you.
You are under no obligation and are free to leave at any time. We
have meetings with different formats. Each meeting, although based
upon common principles, has a different character. "Take what you
like, and leave the rest" is one of our mottoes.
If there is an OA group near you, its members will be happy to
welcome you and give you further information and help, along with
additional literature. If there is no OA group in your community, please
write to:
